If you were unfortunate in the fact that you couldn’t see filmmaker Luke Sparke’s gleefully bombastic and gloriously violent dinosaur/war movie hybrid Primitive War on the big screen, have no fear as the film is set to hit Digital and VOD starting on October 3rd! The movie is now being touted on all major platforms and even though it’s not the big screen (as this is a movie that begs to be seen on the largest screen available) take solace in the fact that you will at least get the opportunity to finally check it out after the tremendous buzz it has received.
“Vietnam. 1968. A recon unit known as Vulture Squad is sent to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing Green Beret platoon. They soon discover they are not alone and must face the most terrifying creatures to ever walk the earth.”
Primitive War is helmed by Luke Sparke which stems from the idea from author Ethan Pettus’ insane novel series and graphic novel of the same name. The film stars Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Lucifer), Ryan Kwanten (True Blood, Glorious), and Nick Wechsler (The Boys).
I was able to see the film during its initial weekend theatrical run back in August and offered up my rave review in an out of theater reaction video on my Action Fix Podcast. Check out what I had to say about the movie below!
