This final trailer is locked and loaded with some of the most amazing visuals and action and fans will have to strap in because just like the advertising has mentioned, this ain’t going to be no walk in the park. Dinosaur action-horror PRIMITIVE WAR has just dropped its final action-packed trailer ahead of its Australian and American cinema release on August 21!
The hotly anticipated final trailer premiered at this year’s San Diego Comic Con with Director Luke Sparke (Occupation Rainfall), Australian actor Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Nick Wechsler (The Boyz) and Jemery Piven (Entourage) presenting unseen footage from the film.

The first teaser trailer mounted a huge reaction online, quickly racking up over 5 million views on YouTube alone – one of the most watched trailers for an independently released film trailer out of Australia – EVER!

Written and directed by Luke Sparke (Occupation Rainfall, Bring Him to Me) and produced by Carly Sparke and Carmel Imrie of Sparke Films. The film is based on the cult-followed book by Ethan Pettus where a squad of soldiers in 1968 discover that dinosaurs have been let loose in the jungles of the Vietnam war.
“A recon unit known as Vulture Squad is sent to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing Green Beret platoon. They soon discover they are not alone.”
To fully immerse yourself in the whole dino-military war combat action goodness, the filmmakers have launched a brand new behind the scenes video detailing the making of this highly ambitious project including interviews with the stars of the movie.
Ever since the 80’s, I have been a lover of Vietnam war films and to this day, the series Tour of Duty remains one of my all-time favorites. It’s true that Hollywood was all in on delivering no holds barred films about the conflict and such iconic movies like the Oscar winning Platoon and Hamburger Hill still resonate for their unflinching portrayals of a war that was literally hell on earth.
With that being said, what could make a war film about Vietnam and the brave men who fought it even better? Well, adding dinosaurs into the mix certainly helps! That’s what the premise for director Luke Sparke’s lates sci-fi/horror/action epic Primitive War which is based on the graphic novel of the same name. The new and final trailer that hit SDCC this weekend definitely serves up the idea that this is an all-out bombastic monster and bullet fest is everything genre fans could hope for with a solid cast led by Ryan Kwanten.
If you love your military infused action pics mixed with a dash of ferocious monster combat, then this one looks to certainly check all the boxes! This one looks barbaric, savage and downright rad so sign me up yesterday!
