UPDATE: The full Predator: Badlands panel from Hall H of the 2025 SDCC that was held on Friday is now online courtesy of Mike’s Monsters on YouTube. I must say that I applaud those in attendance who take video of these rare events so the rest of us who couldn’t attend can still partake in the festivities. The panel was moderated by Kevin Smith himself with director Dan Trachtenberg, stars Elle Fanning, Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi and visual effects guru Alec Gillis were all in attendance. (Original Post) Filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg invaded Hall H today at the 2025 SDCC bearing massive gifts for those in attendance. Along with a new poster drop, Trachtenberg also unveiled the first 15 minutes of his upcoming Predator: Badlands with stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi also in attendance during the 20th Century Studios panel and you can now check out the new key art below!
Not to be outdone by the fact that he is the only director to make not one but two Predator films in the same year, Trachtenberg also announced that his recently released animated anthology movie Predator: Killer of Killers has now an extended cut with a very special epilogue featuring two of the franchise’s most iconic and prolific stars in Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover. Arnie, of course, played Dutch in the original film while Glover took up the mantle in the sequel as besieged cop Mike Harrigan. The new footage serves as a post credit sequence with Arnie’s Dutch and Glover’s Hannigan being shown as captured just like Amber Midthunder’s character from Prey. It is confirmed that Arnold approved the footage and that there will be more coming in terms of his character so stay tuned. I have a feeling that he will be in an animated sequel to Killer of Killers voicing Dutch who escapes his captivity. I’m just guessing of course.
The special cut of the film is now streaming on HULU so by all means check it out.
We also learned more about the synopsis for Badlands and the newest hunter from the panel. According to sources, this film will highlight Dek, the youngest Predator in his clan, and hi efforts to impress his father who wants his son killed due to the fact that he is small and he lost a fang while trying to save his brother. To impress his father and gain his respect, Dek chooses to venture out and hunt down one of the most feared creatures in the universe on an unholy planet that features multiple species with only one desire and that is to kill this new Yautja.
It was also announced that Dek is the anti-hero of the film and a true underdog who must kill his way to earn the respect of his clan as he is not welcome from other Predators. The footage shown at the panel was unfinished, so the movie is still in the postproduction stage on its way to the November 7th release date in theaters this fall.
