Fans of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchise should take note and check out the upcoming military actioner Primitive War which looks to throw the dinosaur flick on its head as filmmaker Luke Sparke infuses dino combat with military warfare. What transpires in the film looks to kick a whole lot of ass and take a bite out of the genre with ferocious war action and monster devastation.
Fathom Entertainment has officially announced special screenings of the film starting on August 21st and to herald the news, a new teaser has dropped which highlights the carnage and chaos that is in store for genre fans.
Official Synopsis: Vietnam. 1968. A recon unit known as Vulture Squad is sent to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing Green Beret platoon. They soon discover they are not alone and must face the most terrifying creatures to ever walk the earth.
Primitive War’s cast include Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Winner, Jeremy Piven (Entourage, Old School), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Lucifer), Screen Actors Guild Nominee Ryan Kwanten (True Blood, Red Hill) and Nick Wechsler (Revenge, The Boys).

Ever since the 80’s, I have been a lover of Vietnam war films and to this day, the series Tour of Duty remains one of my all-time favorites. It’s true that Hollywood was all in on delivering no holds barred films about the conflict and such iconic movies like the Oscar winning Platoon and Hamburger Hill still resonate for their unflinching portrayals of a war that was literally hell on earth.
With that being said, what could make a war film about Vietnam and the brave men who fought it even better? Well, adding dinosaurs into the mix certainly helps! That’s what the premise for director Luke Sparke’s lates sci-fi/horror/action epic Primitive War which is based on the graphic novel of the same name. The first look at this all-out bombastic monster and bullet fest is everything genre fans could hope for with a solid cast led by Ryan Kwanten.
