Now this looks like a lot of fun and definitely infuses the retro 80’s buddy action vibes as Vertical has just launched the promo campaign for their upcoming action-comedy Under Fire which sees Dylan Sprouse & Mason Gooding playing undercover agents who are unaware that the other is…well… an undercover agent. Things go from bad to worse when they are pinned down in the desert by a relentless sniper leading to adrenaline laced action and side-splitting humor. Hailing from director Steven C. Miller (WEREWOLVES), check out the new trailer, key art and stills below!
Two undercover agents (Sprouse, Gooding) for the FBI and DEA suddenly reveal their true identities during a cartel deal, each unaware the other was working the same case. Their surprise is short-lived when a hail of sniper bullets leaves them pinned down and outgunned. Forced to rely on each other, the two agents must navigate a deadly cat-and-mouse game with an unseen sniper whose motives are as mysterious as his aim is deadly.

One thing that made the 80’s and 90’s great was the ample supply of buddy action films like the iconic Lethal Weapon franchise, Tango & Cash and Midnight Run. Sprouse was a standout in last year’s sleeper action film Aftermath and here he is certainly channeling a little of the Martin Riggs charm. Mason Gooding, who hit the mark in the horror-comedy Heart Eyes, brings up the rear with a film that is equal parts buddy banter and bombastic action fueled adrenaline. Miller made quite the name for himself with Werewolves which starred Frank Grillo and it’s no mistake that that film was a throwback as well to the heyday when horror flicks used practical effects.
