The jaw dropping trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi disaster epic Project Hail Mary is now roaring online! Ryan Gosling stars as a Molecular Biologist who must transform into a world saving astronaut when the sun begins to die. The visuals and special effects look to be the best ever captured on film and this film has shot up on my must watch list for 2026! Check out the earth-shattering new footage below!
(Original Post) Ryan Gosling is quite arguably one of the hottest action stars in cinema today. There’s no denying that he is a legit Hollywood superstar, but Gosling, who is an Oscar nominee, also has been delivering some ferocious action as of late like Netflix’s The Gray Man and most recently The Fall Guy. With that in mind, it only makes sense that Gosling would channel his inner superstar talents to the ultimate subgenre, which is the disaster epic and for that, the star is ready to save the world in the upcoming Sc-Fi drama Project Hail Mary which hails from the bestselling 2021 book of the same name by author Andy Weir. The movie is ready to hit theaters on March 20, 2026, in all its IMAX glory so check out the new, G-Force ripping key art for the film ahead of the trailer debut this Monday!
The plot for Project Hail Mary reads: “Science teacher Ryland Grace wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.”

10 minutes of footage was screened at this year’s CinemaCon and the word is that this one is going to make bank at the box office with some of the most incredible visual effects ever to hit. Project Hail Mary is helmed by the Oscar-winning filmmaking combo of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller which comes from a screenplay written by Drew Goddard, and it’s based on Andy Weir’s 2021 novel of the same name. Goddard was quoted as saying that audiences who love Matt Damon’s The Martian will gobble this one all up and the footage dropping this Monday will certainly include some of the jaw dropping images that was screened a few months back.

Gosling is also set to headline the highly anticipated Star Wars: Starfighter so this one sounds like the perfect warm up in the Sci-Fi genre for the actor.
Starring along with Gosling are Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest), Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us, Werewolves Within), Bastian Antonio Fuentes (Jurassic World Dominion), Isla McRae (The Christmas Quest), and James Wright (How to Train A Princess). Lord, Miller, Gosling, Weir and Amy Pascal all served as producers on the ambitious big screen adaptation.
Check back here tomorrow for the official trailer reveal which will without a doubt show off Gosling in all his hero worthy glory!
