Whether you love it or hate it, I’m sure I’m gonna hear all of the negativity surrounding this one as star Nicholas Galitzine has dropped a first look image of himself as the almighty He-Man as film has wrapped on the highly anticipated fantasy adaptation Master of the Universe. Galitzine unveiled the shot of him standing with his back to us on Instagram and immediately the social web went ballistic. Some are actually digging the looks so far as I am but one thing is clear and that’s we won’t definitely know what to think until we see the footage. Check out Galitzine in full on He-man mode below!

“Well, that’s a wrap on Masters of the Universe. It has been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He Man,” Galitzine stated on Instagram. “It’s been the role of a lifetime, and I put everything into it. There’s not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we’ve made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work.”
Bumblebee director Travis Knight was tasked with the gargantuan task of bringing the latest live action version of He-Man to the big screen. The film follows “ten-year-old Prince Adam, who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe.”
Galitzine stars along with Camila Mendes (Riverdale) as Teela, Jared Leto (Morbius) as the villainous Skeletor, Idris Elba (Luther) as Man-at-Arms (who is also known as Duncan), GLOW’s Alison Brie as Skeletor’s second-in-command Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin (Deadpool & Wolverine) as The Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Captain America: Brave New World) as Malcolm (a.k.a. Fisto), Sam C. Wilson (Dodger) as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson (Game of Thrones) as Goat Man, Kojo Attah (The Beekeeper) as Tri-Klops, and James Purefoy (A Knight’s Tale) and Charlotte Riley (Peaky Blinders) who are playing He-Man’s parents, King Randor and Queen Marlena.
Another tease had dropped some months back which only showed an extreme close up of Galtzine holding the iconic sword, so this is certainly a step up with fans getting a better look at the actor in full uniform. There were also some on set shots of Galitzine and co-star Camila Mendes giving us a look at her Teela and she looked pretty solid as well. We are all fans of the tongue in cheek Cannon Films version starring Dolph Lundgren which hit back in 1988 so it will be interesting to say the least how this one fairs with both hardcore He-Man fans and the mainstream going public.
Masters of the Universe is set to hit theaters on June 5th of next year!
