After countless months of teasing us with fast glimpses of what’s to come, FX has finally given us what we wanted with a full trailer for the highly anticipated new series Aliens: Earth which brings the blockbuster sci-fi franchise that Ridley Scott started to the small screen. It’s the first entry set on Earth taking place a few years before Prometheus and from the look of things, we are going to get plenty of Xenomorph tinged mayhem in the limited series. Scroll below for the extended first look!
When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat. During the time the story takes place, five corporations – Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold – wield the power of nations, and proprietary advancements in technology provide the promise of a new tomorrow.

Alien: Earth, hails from Fargo creator Noah Hawley, and will contain an 8-episode first season for the show. It is set to launch with a special two-episode premiere on Tuesday, August 12, at 8 p.m. ET only on Hulu and FX here in North America while internationally, it will hit Disney+ for overseas viewers.
Sydney Chandler headlines along with Alex Lawther (The End of the F**ing World*), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Essie Davis (The Babadook), Babou Ceesay, and Samuel Blenkin. Hawley created the series and serves as showrunner.
What makes this series so inviting is the fact that this is the first time that the Xenomorphs are not contained and they are about to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting Earth. I’m also excited for the “ragtag group of tactical soldiers” as I’m pretty positive that this is the early stages of the Colonial Marines.
It’s no secret that Aliens is and always was my favorite of the franchise so I’m eager to see this IP hit the action throttle once again with some blistering battles with the threat. I am digging the synopsis for the TV series, and I hope that we get some bombastic set pieces with a Cameron Aliens flair and vibe with some bad ass soldiers battling even badder Xenomorphs for the first time on Earth. We shall see.
