Prime has unveiled a second and final trailer for their promising looking action-comedy Heads of State which teams the powerhouse Hollywood duo and DCU members of Idris Elba (The Suicide Squad) and John Cena (The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker). Yes, I know what you’re thinking and yes John Cena is a heavyweight in the industry whether you like it or not and personally, I’m a fan of his in the ring and on the screen. This newest buddy actioner with quips looks pretty entertaining with our reluctant tag team dealing with each other while battling the bad guys with some solid and brutal looking action set pieces. Scroll below for all the latest footage of action cinema’s newest explosive duo!
In the action-comedy Heads of State, the UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba) and U.S. President Will Derringer (John Cena) have a not-so-friendly and very public rivalry that jeopardizes their countries’ “special relationship.” But when they become the targets of a powerful and ruthless foreign adversary—who proves more than a match for the two leaders’ security forces—they are begrudgingly forced to rely on the only two people they can trust: each other. Ultimately allied with the brilliant MI6 agent Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), they must go on the run and find a way to work together long enough to thwart a global conspiracy that threatens the entire free world. The film also stars Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid and Sarah Niles and is directed by Ilya Naishuller.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Stephen Root, Sarah Niles, Richard Coyle and Paddy Considine also star in the film. Ilya Naishuller helms from a script written by Josh Appelbaum & André Nemec and Harrison Query based off a story by Query.

Heads of State looks to revitalize the old school, global adventure with it combining explosive action and sharp comedic banter that takes audiences on the run and for a thrilling ride. The film is also noteworthy for reuniting Cena and Elba who both starred in The Suicide Squad. Unfortunately, they’re trying to kill each other but here’s hoping they set aside their political differences and bring the pain.
