Tiger Chen (Triple Threat, Man of Tai Chi) has been MIA for a tad but the international Kung Fu superstar is back and he’s going extreme and pissed off for his latest actioner. Chen is unloading the bullets and the bravado for the iQIYI streaming service’s latest martial arts action epic titled…wait for it…Angry Rescue! That’s right! First his Triple Threat co-star Tony Jaa hit first with Striking Rescue but Chen was not going to be upstaged as he’s delivering the bombastic goods.
Check out the Chinese trailer count of our friends over at Asian Action Cinema below!
The synopsis courtesy of IMDB reads: The introduction of the new drug ‘Shin-Frost’ introduces a major innovation that can delay human aging by more than 10 years. The protagonist tries to protect his younger brother from forces demanding experimental samples of the new drug and genetic sequencing codes. His younger brother is kidnapped, and the protagonist tries to stop it, but the enemies plan to eliminate him. A new revenge drama begins as forces similar to those in the past reappear. The protagonist vows revenge, saying, “We will repay the new grudge, the old grudge together,” and takes action.

Helmed by Ren Haixuan, Chen stars along with Vanguard’s Qimiya Mu and he’s is tacking up and deploying all the crazy action design he’s known for. Taking on a ruthless crime syndicate with the cops in their pockets, Chen is demonstrating why he should be a bigger star and the grand action stage.
Chen can also currently be seen sitting next to Baba Yaga himself Keanu Reeves in the extraordinary new documentary Wick is Pain. Tiger was featured in the third entry and this is one behind the scenes pic every hardcore action fan should check out.
Angry Rescue just hit the Chinese streaming platform iQIYI so hopefully Well Go USA or somebody domestically picks this one up for North American consumption. After all, I can’t get enough of action movies with standard plots and tropes as long as they bring on the chaos.
