Watching the original Sniper with Tom Berenger and Billy Zane back in 1992, I would have never believed that we would be here in 2025 talking about eleven more entries in the popular action/military franchise but here we are. Berenger starred in the first three entries as Marine Gunnery Sergeant and expert sniper Thomas Beckett and then Chad Michael Collins took over with the fourth titled Sniper: Reloaded back in 2011 where he played Berenger’s son Brandon Beckett. Both Berenger and Zane have made more appearances since, but it’s pretty much been Collins’ show with the actor teaming up with Ryan Robbins as Zero for the last bevy of installments starting with 2020’s Assassin’s End.
This past January saw the release of Sniper: The Last Stand and I can attest that it is my favorite of the series and certainly one of the best action films of the year with a rousing thirty-minute finale of bullets, beatdowns and bravado to spare for two movies.
There was a little teaser of what is to come in the last outing and I’m very happy to report that there is indeed a twelfth Sniper film coming out and it is already shooting. Franchise star Chad Michael Collins made the surprise announcement on social media and you can check out a bloodied and bruised Brandon Beckett below!
Collins mentions that it will be another banger, and that Robbins has returned as Zero as well. Normally these films slip under the radar which is virtually impossible to do nowadays with social media everywhere and once again, they slipped one past us. At least Collins was nice enough to give us the tease and I will say that they have some big shoes to feel with the twelfth outing as the last one was a chef’s kiss. Let’s see what you do for an encore Mr. Beckett.
