March 18th sees the release of the new neo-modern western action-thriller High Ground which stars Charlie Weber (How to Get Away with Murder). Best known to action fans for his high-octane roles in Jarhead: The Siege and last year’s sleeper hit The Painter, Weber is cementing himself as a solid and lethal threat for new action star contender and he isn’t slowing down for a minute as he also co-produces the film as well.
With the release right around the corner, we have fresh images and a clip for you to check out which you can see below!

With the new images, we also have a brand-new clip from the film showcasing a battle of wills between Sheriff Jake Wilcott and Nathaniel Matheson played by Henry Thomas who is playing a deadly game leading to a showdown with a ruthless drug cartel!
The official plot for High Ground reads: When a mysterious prisoner lands in his jail, a border town sheriff faces the wrath of a brutal cartel in this action-packed thriller starring Charlie Weber, Katherine McNamara, and Academy Award® winner Jon Voight.

High Ground is Weber’s first foray into producing, which he did with his manager and producing partner Bernard Kira, with the versatile actor looking to get more involved behind the camera as well as in front of it. The great cast that includes Katherine McNamara, who is making a name for herself in the action genre as well, and Henry Thomas who we all know from the classic and iconic 1982 Steven Spielberg helmed film E.T. about the lovable little alien. Hollywood icon and Oscar winning actor Jon Voight (Coming Home), who also starred along with Weber in The Painter.
I’ve seen the movie and while my podcast review is on hold until next Monday, a day before the release, I can attest that this is a solid crime thriller with a modern western vibe that features Weber in an old school heroic role reminiscent of when Clint Eastwood starred in these kinds of movies. The action is first rate with ample amounts of bullets and bravado.
Also, be sure to check out my exclusive interview with star and producer Charlie Weber hitting next Monday as well!
