This is either going to be the best live action adaptation of Masters of the Universe ever (including Dolph Lundgren’s Cannon Films venture) or the biggest train wreck ever but we have our first tease of lead star Nicholas Galitzine as the iconic He-Man. The image of Galitzine, minus his face mind you, shows off a pretty accurate looking representation of the character complete with the sword of power. This picture is the ultimate tease as it simply shows of part of the actor’s physique sans face like I said but it looks pretty dope do fingers crossed on this one. Take a look at the complete image below!

Amazon MGM stated in the post, “Eternia is in good hands. Here’s your first look at Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man with the Sword of Power in the upcoming film.”
There’s been a lot of casting announcements for the movie which have flooded the internet as of late and, of course, I’ve been busy so I’m taking this opportunity to correct that post haste so read below for a full cast list including some iconic characters from the property that you thought you wouldn’t see on the big screen.
Jared Leto joins Galitzine as Skeletor along with Camla Mendes as Teela, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Manand Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops. Recent additions include James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley as King Randor and Queen Marlena respectively.
Travis Knight helms the film. Chris Butler penned the script from a first draft written by David Callaham, and Aaron and Adam Nee. Escape Artists and Mattel Films are producing.
Plot details are locked up right now but there is speculation that the adaptation will introduce Prince Adam as a normal guy either a boring office job who was told tales of He-Man and Eternia while growing up. Little does he know, he is actually the real Prince Adam who transforms into the mighty He-Man and is transported to Eternia to battle Leto’s Skeletor. It takes its liberties from the initial cartoon and comics which will certainly alienate hardcore fans.
A rumored plot synopsis has leaked online but keep in mind this is not official.
“10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!”
If true, this bodes well for the film as the Cannon Films version only spent a little time on Eternia before traveling to earth so this would reverse that and keep most of the action on the iconic other world.
Masters of the Universe is set to hit theaters next year on June 5th so stay tuned for more to follow!
