Veteran stunt pro turned leading lady Shaina West is definitely ready for her close up as she headlines her first action-thriller Jade. West is surrounded by good company as Mickey Rourke, Katherine McNamara (Air Force One Down), and international martial arts/action star Mark Dacascos also star on the tale of a female assassin looking for redemption amidst an all out war for technology that could bring down Interpol. Cue the bullets, tracer fire and sword wielding action as West officially throws her hat into the ring for new action star!
After her brother’s untimely and accidental death at her own hands, Jade swore she’d never pick up another gun. But when she unknowingly comes between powerful businessman “Tork” and her former gang leader in their urgent search for a valuable hard drive that could single-handedly take down Interpol, she may not have a choice. With the guidance of Reese, an old friend at Interpol, Jade must come to terms with all she’s faced in the past and present to safeguard her growing family’s future.

Directed by veteran indie action filmmaker James Bamford, Well Go USA is poised and ready to finally release West and her insane onscreen fighting skill set on the masses. Bamford who is best known for work on such films as Blade: Trinity and Watchmen as well as helming episodes of The CW’s DC shows Arrow and Superman & Lois. Bamford also helmed the come out of nowhere surprise Air Force One Down which also starred McNamara in a rousing leading lady action performance.

West is the reel deal when it comes to action both on and offscreen with a life story that is just as inviting as the new movie she is headlining.
West is a true testament to survival and sheer determination as she was involved in a massive motorcycle crash when she was 20. Not to be sidelined, West took her love for action, Japanese culture and ANIME and transformed herself into one bad ass martial artist which propelled her into stunt work in the film industry working on such high-profile flicks likeMarvel’s Black Widow and The Woman King.
West is front and center now with Jade and judging from the new trailer, she has settled right into becoming the next big female action star. Having the likes of Dacascos and Rourke backing you up for your first foray into leading action films definitely bodes well but West looks like she’s all business especially where it counts…the movie’s high-octane action sequences. She is certainly on my radar now.
I’m digging what I see from initial footage as West is channeling some ultra Pam Grier vibes here and Jade looks to harken back to those 70’s grind house thrillers.
Bamford is the latest stunt maestro to transition to directing and this film looks like it’ll benefit from his expertise when it comes to the action sequences. History has proven that stunt professionals are the best ones to direct action so keep the trend going.
Director James Bamford (Shadow Land, Air Force One Down) delivers breathtaking non-stop action in JADE,debuting exclusively on Digital February 18 from Well Go USA Entertainment.
