I said in my initial post for Tony Jaa’s newest return to form action vehicle Striking Rescue that it wouldn’t take long for the movie to get domestic distribution in North America, and I couldn’t be any more right when Well Go USA made the announcement. The film which sees Jaa delivering bombastic and blistering action design like he did back in the day was immediately picked up by the famous distribution company that is one of the leading companies in bringing Asian Action Cinema over here and now come December, fans will be able to revel in the full power of Muay Thai as Jaa is unleashed in theaters!
To celebrate the release of Striking Rescue here, Well Go USA has officially launched their campaign with a domestic trailer and key art (which is basically the same as the international one but with a different font for the title). Scroll below to witness the resurgence of one of the greatest action and martial arts stars to ever grace cinema screens worldwide! All I can say is scroll below for the full impact!
After his wife and daughter are killed by assassins affiliated with a brutal organized crime syndicate, a Muay Thai fighter (Tony Jaa) goes on a furious rampage through the city on his quest to hunt down the killers—and make them pay.

Cheng Siyi helms the pic and it tells the story of a former soldier who looks to avenge the death of his wife and child. In the process of tracking the leader and his army down, Jaa’s character succumbs to the darkness of revenge and initiates a frenzied kill mission of all responsible. Xing Yu (Ip Man, Kung Fu Hustle) co-stars with Jaa and really, do you need to know anything else from watching that above extended beatdown? I thought not. Additional cast members do include Philip Keung Hiu-Man from who also starred in Shock Wave as well as Yu Bolin of Sniper: Vengeance.

The movie hits select theaters on December 6th, which is four days shy of my birthday and what better way to celebrate the day then by watching this high-octane, fever inducing, bone and blood splattering goodness. Tony Jaa is back as a motherf***er and I mean back like in Ong Bak, hospital visit stunts back and there was virtually no intel on this one when it first hit a few weeks back except the bone breaking and injury inducing trailer that the Chinese streaming service YOUKU released before it hit.
You can see from the above video that Jaa is looking like he found the fountain of youth as he delivers all the insane and body blasting action set pieces he delivered back in the day. We’re talking blunt force trauma inducing flying double knees, cranium cracking elbows, lightning kicks and ferocious fists infused with the bloody balletic action design that Jaa is known for. This movie certainly has the look and feel of his earlier efforts like the iconic Ong Bak as well as The Protector and it will definitely blow anything the action legend has done lately right out of the temple.
