Who remembers the time when Tom Hardy filmed an action movie for Netflix which was helmed by action maestro Gareth Evans who is famous for putting out arguably the two best modern era action movies of this century with The Raid Films? Well, if you said you didn’t, no one could argue with you as the film has been in production hell for a few years now with Evans going back earlier this year to film additional material for Havoc which wrapped up in July. He then mentioned that the post-production process would take around five to six months and warned fans not to expect anything before the beginning of next year. Hopefully, Havoc is a slam dunk, and Evans is just being nitpicky about making what will hopefully be an action classic like his previous efforts. We shall see. as I am cautiously optimistic because of the talent involved in front of and behind the camera.
Well, Netflix has unveiled two images of Hardy in action to wet everyone’s appetites and did it through their Netflix UK & Ireland X account. I know these are just images but it’s enough for me to get excited and know that the movie will see the light of day sometime in 2025. Check out the goods below!

I’m sure everyone has forgotten about the plot for Havoc or didn’t outright even know it but to give you the intel the film deals with “taking place after one fateful drug deal, centering on a bruised detective named Walker who is forced to fight his way through a dangerous criminal underworld in order to rescue a politician’s estranged son. Along his mission, Walker unravels a web of corruption and conspiracy in his city.
If that’s not enough to excite and tantalize you, then the awesome cast will as the film includes Forest Whitaker (Godfather of Harlem), Timothy Olyphant (Justified, The Mandalorian), Justin Cornwell (Training Day), Jessie Mei Li (Last Night in Soho), Yeo Yann Yann (American Born Chinese), Luis Guzmán (Wednesday), Sunny Pang (The Night Comes for Us), and introducing UFC mixed martial artist Michelle Waterson. Tantalizing indeed.
I don’t have to tell you that there are high hopes for this one, especially since it comes from the man who made Iko Uwais an international star as well as Joe Taslim and the action should definitely be brutal, visceral and unflinching with amazing action design, so we wait patiently for next year to arrive.
To add more fuel to the anticipation fire, Empire Magazine included Havoc in their 2025 issue and served up another photo of Hardy dishing out some punishment. View below!

The article also promises fans that Havoc will be exactly what fans will want from Evans and Hardy.
Yes, rest assured that HAVOC will bring exactly what you’re hoping for from a Hardy-Evans team-up. “When it comes to a film called HAVOC, with me and Tom Hardy, we deliver on the action front,” the director promises. “That’s the primary focus. But with Tom, what you get as well is an intensely muscular central performance, and really well-developed character. There’s a lot going on under the hood.” Specifically, under the hood of Hardy’s Walker – a cop tasked with rescuing the nephew of Forest Whitaker’s mayor. It won’t be easy. “He’s basically on clean-up duty,” explains Evans, “and he has to navigate this broken city in order to get to him first. That’s the propulsive mission he goes on, and because it’s me, it doesn’t go well for a long time.” Bring the pain.
I’m sold! Now bring on some of that pristine and violent footage for all of us to partake in STAT!
Stay tuned and look forward for more Intel on Havoc to hit in the new year or maybe sooner!
