UPDATE! Well, I called that one on Tuesday! It is now being reported that the fine folks over at Well Go USA have officially snatched up the recently announced Tony Jaa actioner Striking Rescue which hits the Chinese streaming service YOUKU this Friday. This will be YOUKU’s first film to get a theatrical release which is part of their future plan to branch out.
The film, which is helmed by Cheng Siyi follows “An Bai (Jaa), a veteran Muay Thai expert who goes on a take-no-prisoners mission of revenge after his wife and daughter are brutally murdered by mysterious forces. The film co-stars Chinese actors Hong Junjia and Shi Yanneng.”
Striking Rescue has been brought to the AFM (American Film Market) by the Beijing distribution company Blossoms Entertainment and to go along with the North American agreement with Well Go USA, the movie will now hit U.S. theaters on December 6thfollowing a December 5th launch in Jaa’s native Thailand.
With Well Go USA buying the film for North America, this bodes well as I have dealt with the company several times for theatrical and home video movie launches so expect more to come from Tony Jaa and Striking Rescue from Action-Flix.com!

Original Article: Better watch this one before it gets pulled from the internet but an extended fight sequence featuring Tony Jaa from his new YOUKU streaming service actioner Striking Rescue has surfaced. featuring some of the dazzling and brutal action design we saw in the initial teaser, this is certainly Jaa back to doing what he does best. Devastating Kness, elbows and other body parts dish out the signature carnage so scroll below to partake in all the chaotic mass annihilation!
Cheng Siyi helms the pic and it tells the story of a former soldier who looks to avenge the death of his wife and child. In the process of tracking the leader and his army down, Jaa’s character succumbs to the darkness of revenge and initiates a frenzied kill mission of all responsible. Xing Yu (Ip Man, Kung Fu Hustle) co-stars with Jaa and really, do you need to know anything else from watching that above extended beatdown? I thought not. Additional cast members do include Philip Keung Hiu-Man from who also starred in Shock Wave as well as Yu Bolin of Sniper: Vengeance.

The movie hits this Friday in China on YOUKU and why it’s streaming only is a mystery but again, who the “F” cares and give the rest of the world this high-octane, fever inducing, bone and blood splattering goodness now.
