Once again, it is Election Day (once again, God help us all) and I’m doing my damnest to ignore everything that is going on so action cinema news it is today. First, I shared some key art for the Scott Sdkins/Marko Zaror led actioner Diablo and now we have a first look image of The Stath, Jason Statham, locked and loaded for his next thriller Mutiny. Check out Mr. Statham getting ready to lay waste some baddies below!
Statham shared the image on his Instagram account and with production well underway, it looks like 2025 will deliver another Statham worthy bullet fest like The Beekeeper back in January. Coincidentally, The Beekeeper is till either number one or two on my best action films of 2024 list so stay tuned.
Mutiny sees Statham starring as Cole Reed and “after his billionaire industrialist boss is murdered in front of him, Reed (Statham) is set up to take the fall for the crime— leaving him on the run as he works to uncover an international conspiracy.” Jean François Richet (Plane) is helming the action pic with a script penned by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis (Plane, The Contractor).
Statham is also producing the film which will most certainly contain all the high-octane action design fans can handle from the action icon. Yes, just like Adkins, Statham is now an action icon as well according to Action-Flix.com. Yep, you heard it here so feel free to come on my podcast and debate me. Invitations are always open.
