After setting numerous records in viewership for Amazon Prime, John Krasinski is set to return once again in a feature length version of the series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Along with Krasinski, series regular Wendell Pierce will also return, and Michael Kelly is in active negotiations to reprise his character of Mike November.
Along with the returning stars, series 2 helmer and executive producer Andrew Bernstein has been tapped to return and direct the movie from a script penned by Jack Ryan creator Aaron Rabin. The series ran for four seasons on Prime and was the most successful screen interpretation of Tom Clancy’s popular CIA analyst turned action hero.
Plot details are not available, but I would assume that it will take place right after the events of the final season with Ryan dealing with a new threat to the free world. Expect massive action set pieces, high stakes intrigue and real-world drama to unfold in the running time. Amazon MGM Studios is looking for the movie to jumpstart a new era of the character and if successful, fans can expect even more films to follow. Lock N Load right here for more to come!
