Filmmaker Neil Marshall is noteworthy for crafting some of the most classic genre pics of recent years. Marshall has given us many bloody tales including his debut in the cult classic Dog Soldiers as well as Horror driven thrillers like The Decent which is probably one of the most unsettling films to watch. Marshall has also dabbled in action cinema with his biggest contribution being Doomsday which had star Rhona Mitra kicking all scales of ass. The man simply knows how to do genres and better yet, merge them together like he most recently did in the all-out blood feast The Lair.
Now Marshall is dipping his creative juices into the crime action-thriller with his latest offering titled Duchess which has Charlotte Kirk starring as a woman who turns anti-hero to claim her vengeance on the criminal underworld. It also helps that one of my favorite actors, Strike Back’s Philip Winchester, also stars in the film although we learn of his fate in the trailer which upsets me just a tad. Regardless, the film looks like a bloody good time with some crowd-pleasing action and dark humor to go along with the ultra-violence. Check out the new trailer along with key art and images below!!!
Vertigo Releasing have announced the release of action-thriller Duchess. Directed by Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers & The Descent), Duchess will be in Select UK Cinemas & available on Digital Download from 12th August.
Duchess, a small-time crook, tries to enter the treacherous underworld of diamond trafficking and ends up left for dead when a deal goes wrong. Determined to seek retribution, she launches into an unwavering pursuit for vengeance.
Duchess stars Charlotte Kirk (The Lair), Philip Winchester (Strike Back), Colm Meaney (Layer Cake), Hoji Fortuna (That Dirty Black Bag), Colin Egglesfield (Something Borrowed), Stephanie Beachum (Dynasty) and Sean Pertwee (Dog Soldiers, Gotham).
