It’s Mark Wahlberg week here at Action-Flix as the versatile actor has dropped not one but two trailers for his upcoming movies. Yesterday saw the Netflix action-comedy The Union with Halle Berry and now we have Flight Risk which hails from director Mel Gibson. Lionsgate has just dropped a first look trailer for the thriller that takes adrenaline into high altitude. Mark Wahlberg stars as a pilot who isn’t all that he seems as a high stakes game of cat and mouse ensues mikes up in the sky. This one looks a little bit better than the Netflix offering and Gibson is as solid behind the camera as he is onscreen so here’s hoping this one delivers.
Synopsis: In this high-stakes suspense thriller, Academy Award® nominee Mark Wahlberg (Actor in a Supporting Role, 2006 – The Departed) plays a pilot transporting an Air Marshal (Michelle Dockery) accompanying a fugitive (Topher Grace) to trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem.

It’s rather cool to see Wahlberg paly such an unhinged character and he even went as far as to go bald on top to authenticate the look. Mark usually plays the hero or character that you’re rooting for so leave it up to Gibson to turn the tables and have Wahlberg deliver what looks like his best performance in years.
