I’ve heard rumblings over the past few weeks that we are finally getting a sequel to the surprise action hit Nobody which featured Better Call Saul‘s Bob Odenkirk as the unlikeliest of ass kicking heroes. Fans drew comparisons to the John Wick franchise as it was delivered via David Leitch and his 87North production banner who had a hand in co-directing the first film. Although I thought it never reached the same heights as Keanu Reeves’ blockbuster series, I still found a lot to love about Odenkirk in the role as he was the most out of nowhere actor to star in a high-octane actioner.
Fans have been wondering if we would ever get a follow up to Nobody and a few weeks back, it was announced that the follow up would start shooting later this summer for an August 15th, 2025 release with Odenkirk set to return. Deadline has just made the pot even sweeter as they have brought official word that filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, who helmed the balls to the wall Netflix action film The Night Comes for Us with Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim, has enlisted to direct the sequel. With that, expect the action sequences to be elevated a great deal as Tjahjanto has proven with the aforementioned Netflkx film that he can direct insane action design. In other words, this bodes well for action cinema and hopefully it means that the sequel will surpass the original at least where the action is concerned.

Leitch and Kelly McCormack are also returning to produce via 87North, and John Wick scribe Derek Kolstad is also set to once again pen the new film along with Aaron Rabin (Jack Ryan), Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem (Kate). Plot details are top secret right now, but we all know the first film was a dark comedy with hyper-kinetic action sequences centered on Odenkirk’s Hutch Mansell who seems like your ordinary and boring everyday man. Little does anyone know, including his wife, that he was once a ruthless assassin with an insane skill set. When a home invasion forces Mansell to dust off his killer instincts, he rages against the machine and goes to war with a Russian crime lord.
Once more intel surfaces for the planned sequel lock n load right here to read all about it as we are your destination for your action fix!
