So, I guess June 8th is National Best Friends Day. Yes, I didn’t know it either, but I guess it’s a real thing so grab that one special bestie that you have, pull them real close, pop open a soda and watch the new extended spot for Deadpool and Wolverine which features the greatest best friends duo ever! Ryan Reynolds is doing all that he can to show Hugh Jackman just how special he is to him (and as always, Jackman isn’t having any of it) so an extended new promo for their film is the most awesomeness way to go. Once again, this is a real thing, I swear…
Check out the new spot, compliments of Reynolds himself, complete with an all-new version of Wiz Khalifa’s Black and Yellow which has ceremoniously been changed to Red and Yellow for our two anti-heroes!
Now besides Wade Wilson being overly optimistic and fluffy and Logan being all pessimistic and grumpy (after all, Wolverine does nick the Merc with a Mouth when the latter wants to shake on their union) there’s a whole new bevy of easter eggs in this new spot including, yes, another dig at Paul Rudd and the fact that Ant-man is dead, a finer look at Dogpool (who is wonderfully cute in a Nightmare on Elm Street way) and i do believe we get our first, albeit brief, look at Lady Deadpool. Unless that’s Wade walking all seductively which it could very well be.
I am so excited for this one as I know Marvel Studios and Disney, who is embracing the R rating and vulgarity mixed with graphic violence (oh how times have changed), because there is going to be all kinds of epic cameos and surprises for all us fanboys and girls. Yipppeeee!
Bringing these two together feels so right and hopefully jackman is up to playing the indestructible, clawed Canadian well into his 60’s because fans are going to demand it. Better eat lots of chicken and rice and take cold showers to properly pump you up because us as a fanbase is going to demand that you play Wolverine well into the future even if there’s a new MCU version. It just won’t be the same.
Deadpool and Wolverine breaks the bank when it hits theaters on July 26th!!!
