Sony’s Marvel Universe has definitely been hit or miss with its last offering, Madame Web, becoming one of the most epic fails in cinematic history. I believe Sony teaming up with Marvel Studios for the Spider-Man franchise was the best thing they could have ever done but they still look to find success without banking on the MCU. With the smell of failure still lingering in the air, we do have Kraven the Hunter with Aaron Taylor Johnson to look forward to and even though it keeps getting delayed, it still is worth waiting for I believe after the gnarly red band trailer dropped last year. Just like Deadpool and Wolverine, Sony has gone full on with the R rating, and it looks like it will be a success. Well, let’s hope so.
Probably the most success Sony has had without aid from Marvel is the Venom films with Tom Hardy crushing it as Eddie Brock who is probably the most unique anti-hero from the comics as he has melded with the alien symbiote Venom for one hell of a union. The last film, Venom Let There Be Carnage, left me wanting a little but hopefully the final chapter titled Venom: The Last Dance will end the franchise on a high note. Judging from the newly released trailer, it definitely will be one hell of a final ride so scroll below tom below the new footage!
Official Synopsis: In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.
Kelly Marcel makes her directorial debut with the third film after Andy Serkis, who helmed the second flick, opted out of this one after saying he would direct it. Marcel also penned the screenplay. Joining Hardy for The Last Dance are Juno Temple (Ted Lasso), Clark Backo (Letterkenny), and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). Even though Ejiofor was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, he will obviously be playing a new character seeing as these films are not connected to the MCU even though there was a stinger scene in the second film that teased a connection.
Venom: The Last Dance will finally hit theaters on October 25th!
