OK, you had me at action icon Chuck Norris rocking a mini gun at the age of 84! Quiver Distribution has unleashed the new trailer for the upcoming indie sci-fi action pic Agent Recon which sees two of the genre’s finest in Marc Singer (V, The Beastmaster) and Norris teaming up with a new generation of ass kicker in Derek Ting (Agent Revelations), who also wrote and directed the film, as they wage war on an alien threat that is looking to devastate mankind. Check out the new trailer, key art and images below!
Synopsis: A covert military task force tracks a mysterious energy disturbance at a secret base in New Mexico that is suspected of experimenting on alien technology. Once there, the team encounters an unknown being of extraordinary strength and speed, and the ability to control an army of mindless warriors. The trio must fight through the unstoppable hordes to prevent humanity’s demise.

Seeing Norris in action again as well as Singer who I have been a fan of since The Beastmaster is nothing short of rapid-fire awesomeness. For Ting to assemble these two and utilize them in the action sequences will definitely make fans smile from ear to ear. Norris letting loose with a mini gun is worth the price of admission alone and Ting looks like he could definitely be a serious threat in the action cinema department both as a star and filmmaker.
Norris looks great and playing a character out of his usual action comfort zone to boot as a spec ops automation that is activated to deal with the alien threat. Interesting. Singer hasn’t lost a step from his days of battling invading lizards in the classic V mini-series and television show. Blending hand to hand action design with bullets and bravado, ting certainly has shown his love for the genre and looks to pay homage to the films of the past while incorporating a new generation tinge to the proceedings. This is indie action so give it a chance and simply just enjoy two action icons dusting off their particular skill sets to save the day one more time.
Even at 84 (and age is just a number) Norris is one of those few icons that can kick ass in my book even into his 100’s. Are you going to be the one to tell him he can’t? I thought so. Singer as well as he looks just as good and looks to get his hands dirty numerous times in the film’s ambitious action scenes. For my generation of action fans, this is spectacular to see them dropping enemy combatants like it’s free. Bring it!
