I’ve had my eye on Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In (AKA Kowloon Walled City) for quite some time but unfortunately when the first trailer hit, I was dealing with personal stuff and my shoulder so today with the launch of the second all-new trailer, I’m rectifying that post haste. Based on the cult Manga series City of Darkness, this Hong Kong slugfest features action icons and younger disciples locking horns with the fate of the infamous Kowloon Walled City hanging in the balance. Starring Hong Kong action/martial arts maestro Sammo Hung (who just won the well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Hong Kong Film Awards) as well as Richie Jen, Raymond Lam, and Philip Ng, this one looks loaded with insane fight action from start to finish courtesy of fan favorite action designer Kenji Tanigaki. Check out the brutal new trailer directly below along with the first one to boast your mood for all things Asian Action Cinema!
Official Synopsis: Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In is an adaptation of the cult manga series City of Darkness by Andy Seto. Set in the eighties inside the dangerous and enigmatic Kowloon Walled City, which was a de jure Chinese enclave within British colonial Hong Kong, Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In follows troubled youth Chan Lok-kwun as he accidentally enters the Walled City, discovers the order amidst its chaos, and learns important life lessons along the way. In the Walled City, he becomes close friends with Shin, Twelfth Master and AV. Under the leadership of Tornado, they resist against the invasion of villain Mr. Big in a series of fierce battles. Together, they vow to protect the safe haven that is Kowloon Walled City.

From director Soi Cheang Pou Soi, best known for SPL II: A Time for Consequences and The Monkey King and producers Wilson Yip (Paradox, the blockbuster Ip Man Franchise with Donnie Yen) and John Chong (The Invincible Dragon), Sammo leads a stellar cast that is immersed in a tension coiled realm where only the strongest survive. Famed Hong Kong action master Kenji Tanigaki (Raging Fire, Enter the Fat Dragon, Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins) handles the film’s numerous smackdowns so expect to get your money’s worth with this one when it hits. Indulge in more bone cracking action with the first trailer below!
International action fans will have to wait a little longer for this one as Well Go USA acquired it a while back, but Hong Kong domestic audiences can treat themselves to the chaos and carnage of fisticuffs when it hits theaters on May 3rd!
