With the success of Amazon’s Reacher, Alan Ritchson is in demand and with the actor looking like a one man army built for mass destruction, he’s definitely enlisting for the action roles as of late. Ritchson is currently in production on the action-comedy Playdate where he stars along with Kevin James and he will soon be deploying for season 3 of Reacher.
Deadline has brought the news today that Ritchson has just enlisted for a new Sci-Fi action film titled awesomely enough War Machine and it’s set to be directed by Patrick Hughes who is best known for Expendables3 as well as the The Hitman’s Bodyguard films. The movie will be a Netflix original so no theatrical release unfortunately.
Per Deadline, War Machine’s synopsis reads: In the final 24 Hours of the world’s toughest selection process, a team of Army Rangers encounter a threat beyond their imagination. The script was penned by Hughes along with James Beaufort (Machine) from a story by Hughes.

Ritchson will next be seen firing his salvo of arrows alongside Henry Cavill in Guy Ritchie’s WWII war epic The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare which hits theaters next month on April 19th. The action star will also reprise his role as Aimes who betrayed Dom and his crew in the next and currently unnamed 11th entry of the Fast and Furious franchise which hails from Universal Pictures.
I’m becoming a huge fan of Ritchson and I feel his take on Reacher is the near perfect combo of brains and braun with a can’t lose attitude. War Machine sounds crowd pleasing and this action film blogger can’t wait to see what the Sci-Fi actioner looks like.
