Regardless of if you liked the first part of Rebel Moon or not, Netflix is still going to set up the second part this April. It’s true that Part I-A Child of Fire was greeted with unceremonious reviews from fans and critics alike but even though Zack Snyder borrows heavily from genre greats like Star Wars and The Magnificent Seven, there’s no denying that this epic still delivers a full throttle experience complete with Snyder’s signature slo-mo assault on the senses. I have finally watched the first movie as life certainly got in the way for me when it initially came out but my tried-and-true trope of liking bad movies or so-called bad movies remains in full effect as I did enjoy this one…worts and all. Sometimes you just have to surrender your brain at the door and enjoy something for what it is and Rebel Moon is an unapologetic force to be reckoned with infused with Snyder’s craft of special effects drenched set pieces and characters that defy logic.
Today sees the release of the trailer for Rebel Moon Part Two- The Scargiver and with it we are treated to more of the same with blistering and in your face visuals combined with action set pieces that rival anything of this scope in cinema today. Scroll below to view the new footage now!
Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.

Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver for one thing will answer left opened questions from the previous installment. It will also look to enhance this new world of Snyder’s and expand on what we know of the movie’s core characters. One thing is for certain…Part I was boisterous, fun (in my eyes) and Snyder cliche filled but in a good way and the finale looks to go big or go home judging from the trailer.
Returning cast members from Part 1 include Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Staz Nair, and Anthony Hopkins as the voice of Jimmy the robot guardian. Part Two additions include Fra Fee, Cleopatra Coleman, Stuart Martin, Ingvar Sigurðsson, Alfonso Herrera, Cary Elwes, Rhian Rees, Elise Duffy, Sky Yang, and Charlotte Maggi.

Snyder has already unveiled that in an interview with I Minutemen (per The Playlist) that his deluxe, director’s cut hard R rated version of Rebel Moon will debut both parts on the same day this summer although nothing is set in stone right now. “Those will come out, probably, on the same day – later,” Snyder said. “We don’t have a date yet, but I think it’s going to be in the summer.“
He also went on to say thar each cut will be about an hour longer and that it will give audiences a much more immersive viewing experience and contain a lot more graphic violence. The whole thing will total roughly six hours but, Hey!, at least you can pause it and go potty while enjoying it.
“They’re each about an hour longer than the originals, the PG-13 [versions]. So it’ll be nice to see the six hours together. You can take a break, of course. It’s a more, maybe, immersive experience. I’m interested for people to see it that way. It’s very adult, it’s very R-rated.”
Rebel Moon- Part Two: The Scargiver hits Netflix on April 19th!
