Hot off the heels of the rad looking trailer for the feature film based on the video game Borderlands, comes another even more rad trailer for Fallout which is a new series based on another widely popular game dealing with a world that deserved a much better ending then the one it got. Like Borderlands, this one boasts a twisted apocalyptic landscape filled with wild characters, immersive visuals and breathtaking action set pieces worthy of a feature film. Scroll below to see the first look footage!
The official synopsis for the ultra-cool show is “Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them. Ella Purnell is Lucy, an optimistic Vault-dweller with an all-American can-do spirit. Her peaceful and idealistic nature is tested when she is forced to the surface to rescue her father. Aaron Moten is Maximus, a young soldier who rises to the rank of squire in the militaristic faction called Brotherhood of Steel. He will do anything to further the Brotherhood’s goals of bringing law and order to the wasteland. Walton Goggins is the Ghoul, a morally ambiguous bounty hunter who holds within him a 200-year history of the post-nuclear world.”

Ella Purnell leads the cast along with Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins who is unrecognizable as the nefarious bounty hunter simply known as The Ghoul.

What is most impressive about Fallout’s trailer is how cinematic it is boasting footage that looks more than worthy enough to be shown on the big screen. Once again, I’m not a gamer so I’m intrigued to watch it from the perspective of someone who is coming in with a blank slate. The footage depicting an almost identical feel to what I’ve seen of the game should make gaming fans happy but you never know.
All 8 episodes of Fallout are due to hit Amazon Prime on April 11th!
