It’s been about a week since the official trailer for One More Shot with Scott Adkins hit but if you need more of the action phenom, you’re in luck as he is teaming up with resident bad ass Frank Grillo in the new, underground fight flick Lights Out. From director Christian Sesma (Every Last One of Them, Section 8) comes the hard hitting and electrifying new actioner that gives you two action cinema gods for the price of one. Check out the official trailer below!
Lights Out sees Grillo starring as homeless veteran Michael “Duffy” Duffield who gets noticed by ex-con Max Bomer (Mekhi Phifer) when he uses his bare-knuckle skill set to diffuse a situation. What culminates is Duffy entering underground fights Lionheart style which then mixes him up with corrupt cops run by the sinister Ellen Ridgway (Jaime King) and a crime boss named Sage Parker (Dermot Mulroney). With the situation going from bad to worse, Duffy calls on former comrade Don ‘The Reaper’ Richter (Scott Adkins) to aid him in declaring war on the criminal empire and taking on a gauntlet of enemy combatants utilizing their decisive and precise lethal skills they acquired as elite operatives in the military.

Official Synopsis: In Lights Out, a homeless veteran, Michael “Duffy” Duffield (Grillo), meets a talkative Ex-Con, Max Bomer (Phifer) who notices Duffy’s skills after he gets into a bar fight and offers him a well-paying “job” competing in underground fight clubs. The pair form an unlikely partnership after their first fight and decide to travel to LA so Duffy can atone for his past and Max can pay back a crime boss, Sage Parker (Mulroney). Duffy enters Sage’s fight club and eventually wins, but it also gets him tied up in the crime world and offered jobs he can’t refuse, including one with Sage’s partner and Police officer, Ellen Ridgway (King). The deeper Duffy goes in this world, the more deadly it gets.
This is certainly Grillo’s show as the trailer opens up with the rad image of the star jocked up with bullets whizzing around him in a battle zone. What then transpires is about two minutes of brawling and bullets with Adkins lending some serious back up as we get to see ample scenes of both men taking out a horde of corrupt cops and criminal soldiers with some serious ass extreme prejudice and hard rock music accompanying the gritty, down n dirty display of gratuitous violence. They had me at Lights Out.

From a script co-penned by Action-Flix favorite Chad Law and Garry Charles, the supporting cast is stacked with Jaime King, Mekhi Phifer (Truth Be Told) and Dermot Mulroney (Section Eight, Hanna) lending their talents to this sure-fire action hit. Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break), Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (The Weapon), Erica Peeples (All American), Juju Chan Szeto (Wu Assassins), and Kevin Gage (Crossfire) round out the action ready cast.
The movie is set to open in select theaters, VOD and Digital on February 16th courtesy of Quiver Distribution! Lock N Load Action-Flix faithful!
