It’s hard to believe that the little boy who played Short Round in the iconic Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom would go on to win an Oscar forty some years later but that’s exactly what happened to Ke Huy Quan last year. Quan is such a hot property at the moment, he can literally write his own ticket with upcoming projects which include a guess stint on season 2 of Marvel Studios Loki.
What does the future hold for Quan? Well, why not team up with John Wick co-creator David Leitch and his 87North production banner for a new actioner titled With Love.
Deadline broke the news today that Quan has indeed accepted the lead role for the new action project and being from Leitch and 87North, this has the makings of being another sensational notch in their adrenaline belt. Leitch and Kelly McCormick via 87North Productions (Bullet Train) will produce the project.
Sweetening the deal is that Leitch and company have tapped another stunt pro, 2nd unit director and 87eleven Action Design team member Jonathan Eusebio to make his directorial debut with the movie. Eusebio is well known in the action community having been the 2nd unit director and stunt coordinator on such high profile projects as Violent Night (2022), Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) and the John Wick films. Good company indeed.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being but it’s a safe bet that the movie will be hyper-kinetic, adrenaline fueled and contain expertly precise action set pieces. Stay tuned and lock n load for more Intel to follow!
