Remember when I mentioned that after rocking it in The Foreigner, Jackie Chan should focus more on serious roles in his late career as he could have totally reinvented himself with flying colors? Yeah, well, Chan hasn’t listened and that’s not necessarily a bad thing but it looks like the international action icon is going out with all fists and feet blazing with ample amounts of slapstick to finish off his career with another action/comedy coming soon titled Panda Plan. The name alone reminds me of Kung Fu Yoga. Yeesh!
A new image of Chan, who is playing a version of himself in the new movie, just hit the web as it debuted at this week’s TOKYO TIFFCOM content market ahead of its premiere at this coming week’s AFM. Take a look at Chan in action courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter below!

Panda Plan hails from mainland Chinese filmmaker Zhang Luan (Song of Youth) and is produced by Mandarin Motion Pictures and Wishart Media Co. Starring along with Chan are Chan are Shi Ce (Hi, Mom), Wei Xiang (Full River Red) and Han Yanbo (The Super Family).
Let me say that I was one of the one’s that enjoyed Hidden Strike when it finally saw the light this past summer and his chemistry with John Cena was great while the movie fused buddy action with ample amounts of funny. Ride On was also decent and sentimental at the sane time but I would love to see Chan take on more challenging roles like The Foreigner as he was sensational in it in both the dramatic and action set pieces. Let’s just hope that Panda Plan is more Hidden Strike then let’s say The Tuxedo. I’m intrigued to see first look footage on this one.
Lock N Load for more on Panda Plan! I’ll have more thoughts on this one during my next Weekly Intel on The Action Fix Podcast coming later this week! Look out for it!
