After seeing several images drop a few weeks back for the highly anticipated Warner Bros Monsterverse series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, a new teaser has stomped online giving fans their first glimpse of the series that Joe has a November launch date. Check out the new teaser below!
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is the latest and newer chapter in Legendary Entertainment’s Monsterverse series, which has a rather blockbuster lineup including Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong, and the most recent Netflix animated series Skull Island.
The official synopsis reads: The series tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.
The star studded cast includes the one and only Kurt Russell who stars along with his son Wyatt Russell who will play a younger version of his dad. Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski round out the cast.
The teaser features the cast and we get glimpses of the Titans throughout with the big guy, Godzilla, shoeing up at the end demonstrating his iconic roar. This series looks epic and theatrical in scope and it’s a shame that it’s not going to a big screen. Anyway, we will still get 10 episodes of monster carnage to indulge as we wait for Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire which will hit in 2024. Hail to the king baby!
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will debut with a two episode premiere on Friday, November 17th. The other eight episodes will hit every week after that thru Friday, through January 12th.
