Keeping his promise he made on social media, Zack Snyder unveiled a brand new teaser trailer for Netflix’s next big thing in Rebel Moon. Part science fiction, part western and all action, this looks like a film that should be hitting the theaters instead of a streaming service. None the less, check out the epic look and feel of Snyder’s new vision below!
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the story of Rebel Moon “is set in motion when a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate, the colonists dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.”
Zack Snyder helms from a script he co-penned with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. Cleopatra Coleman, Sofia Boutella, and Charlie Hunnam star in the movie as well as Cary Elwes, Anthony Hopkins, Jena Malone, Corey Stoll, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Stuart Martin, Ray Fisher,
This is the film that should use the moniker of “It’s high moon at the end of the universe,” seeing as it actually looks like a sci-fi spaghetti western. As much as I love Metalstorm, I feel that cult classic was a letdown when it promised that so I feel Snyder will more than make up for it.
Snyder unveiled yesterday that the titles for each chapter along with a new release date for the 2nd installment. The first movie has now been dubbed Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire, while the second film will be officially known as Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver.
Snyder might not be doing the DCU but this universe looks rad and will definitely fill the void for his legions of fans. Plus it’s an original concept that takes its cues from some of the best genre films ever made like Star Wars and The Magnificent Seven. I’m not gonna lie, I got chills watching this and the music is nothing short of epic in itself.
