With the Hollywood strike still ongoing, it’s going to be a while at a certain point when we get new movies or shows. For now, we still have some healthy choices out there and action fans take note that the new trailer for The Continental has just been unleashed showcasing all the Gun Fu action sequences you can shake a gun at. Check out the new footage below!
Synopsis:
Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant) is portraying a younger version of Winston, who was previously played by Ian McShane in the film franchise. Other cast members include an all-star selection including Katie McGrath (The CW’s Supergirl), Ray McKinnon (Chaos Walking), Adam Shapiro (Now You See Me), Mark Musashi (Feral), and Marina Mazepa (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) and the one and only Mel Gibson.
The first episode of the three part series event will blast onto Peacock on Friday, Sept. 22nd. Episode 2 will then hit on Sept. 29th, while the third and final episode of The Continental will debut on October 6th.
The action takes place in the 70’s before the infamous hotels were a safe haven for the underworld of assassins. It definitely has the dark, forbidding look of the movies and the gauntlet of characters are well represented in the fast promo. It’ll be interesting to see how this event series will be received as it’s a prequel with no recognizable faces from the franchise in it. I think putting the John Wick name in the title was a smart move as mainstream audiences will actually connect the two now. We Action Cinema freaks know better. The action and look of it certainly looks cinematic for sure.
