Much has been said about the last Punisher story as the gun toting vigilante became a part of The Hand for reasons I won’t spoil and with it some insane storytelling commenced that divided fans. No longer was he gun toting but now he was a bladed weapon vigilante and even though he still had the killer’s edge, fans were very vocal about it all. To go along with it, a new skull was created that was much maligned and I was not a fan but for the story, I understood.
I’m in the middle of reading the newest line of graphic novels but I won’t spoil the ending as I already know that happens. Needless to say…Frank Castle is no more but now we have a new contender to take his place and he was just unveiled at this weekend’s SDCC.
Let me introduce you to…drumroll please…
Joe Garrison. A retired SHEILD spec ops agent who is pressed back into the killing game when violence forces him to dust off his particular skill set. Check out the newest images below!

Official Synopsis: Joe Garrison, a retired S.H.I.E.L.D. black ops agent, is brought back into the action after his past rears its violent head. But what put him on his path of vengeance? And when the smoke clears, will he even make it out alive?

Listen, you all know I’m a die hard Punisher fan and I’ve read them all and I love all the screen and TV incarnations. I’m sure there will be a fan base that will dismiss this newest vigilante but I’m all for it. Frank Castle has done it all and maybe it’s time to put him to rest and start fresh. Like I always say, I’m OK with change along as it treats the characters with respect and is done in a good light.
I’m digging the new tactical outfit and I love how the skull is portrayed in a futuristic looking way. I know I’m probably in the minority here and some fans can’t just let go but I say BRING IT ON!
I’m eager to finish the last run of Punisher and come November, let’s see how Garrison lays down the tracer fire. After all the skull is a symbol and now it’s more than just the man. It’s a legacy. It’s not vengeance, no, it’s punishment. November can’t get here fast enough as that’s when the first issue hits the shops.
LOCK N LOAD right here for more Punisher Intel to follow as we are your destination for everything action and PUNISHMENT!
