Shocking news once again but at yesterday’s TUDUM event, Chris Hemsworth announced along with franchise director Sam Hargrave that he’s officially returning as Tyler Rake for another round of sweat filled, adrenaline laced carnage in Extraction 3. This comes as I just wrote my review of the newest entry (Spoiler Alert- I loved it) and the film is dominating once again on Netflix.
Extraction 2 is worth the hype in every way and this is a true action franchise that can contend with John Wick. The upcoming sequel will most assuredly see Chris Hemsworth back in action on another high-stakes, do or die rescue mission.
Will it surpass the second? only time will tell but with this crew involved, my money is on yes. John Wick has done the unthinkable each time so why not this one.
Extraction 2 is the rip-roaring, crowd-pleasing action epic fans were hoping for. It’s scale is the stuff of legends, and it’s a crying shame that it’s on Netflix because this is the type of actioner that deserves to be seen on the biggest screen imaginable. The films on the streaming service have been hit or miss over the years for sure but this movie has finally given the streamer the big budget tentpole franchise they so desperately need.
