Netflix is readying to let Extraction 2 loose this Friday and to make action fans’ mouths water even more with anticipation, The Russo Bothers, who produce the films, have unveiled a brand new clip featuring one hell of a high speed chase culminating into more peeks at the other set pieces in store. Watch Rake go weapons hot in the new promo below!
The initial teaser and trailer pretty much made me go into action overload so franchise star Chris Hemsworth is a welcome sight as he returns from the dead as black ops mercenary Tyler Rake. The above tease is literally worth the price of a Netflix subscription alone and the much talked about 21 minute oner sequence looks sensational.
Once again, I’ve said that Extraction 2 with Chris Hemsworth is one contender to outdo John Wick Chapter 4 for 2023 action supremacy. Regardless, it still looks like it’ll be the ultimate kick ass summer action flick and will outdo the first one on scope and set pieces.
The official synopsis reads,
Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake inEXTRACTION 2, the sequel to Netflix’s blockbuster action film EXTRACTION. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.
Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring.
This Friday, June 16th is the launch date so prepare yourselves accordingly!
