SYNOPSIS
When his brother is killed, LAPD officer Mark (Michael J. White) leaves the city to return to the island he grew up on. Seeking answers and ultimately vengeance, he soon finds himself in a bloody battle with the corrupt tycoon who’s taken over the island paradise.

Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite) and Jackson Rathbone (Twilight) star in the high-octane action thriller THE ISLAND, coming to select theaters, on demand and digital July 21 from director Shaun Piccinino (Netflix’s That’s Amor) and Saban Films.
I worked all day today and I did see this in my email so of course as soon as I got home, I shared it because Michael Jai White is definitely an Action-Flix Hall of Famer (Wait a minute, is that something that’s coming soon to the website? Hmmmmmm) and anytime I have the chance to promote one of his action pics, you bet it’s going up. This one looks pretty damn decent for an indie actioner and White is always game in his roles as he delivers what the fans want to see. Rathbone is something of a newcomer for me as I have not seen any of the Twilight films but he looks solid in backing White up in the action sequences.
Be sure to check out Michael Jai White’s vintage ass kicking in The Island when it hits on demand and digital July 21st from director Shaun Piccinino (Netflix’s That’s Amor) and Saban Films! Jock up and Lock “N” Load!!!
