No action film blogger is more indebted to Kenpo Master Jeff Speakman as I am. Mr. Speakman was the one and only action star that finally got me to enter a Karate Training Facility after watching his inaugural action film The Perfect Weapon on opening night back in 1991. Because of that night, that movie, and that action star, I started my journey training in the art of Ed Parker Kenpo to which I still do to this day.
I helped run my martial arts academy for over 25 years and instructed thousands of men, women and children. I was even privileged to train law enforcement officers as well as military in self defense. It was one of the greatest times in my life. Unfortunately, there are no facilities around where I currently reside so I have only acquired a 3rd degree Black Belt in the style but I continue to sharpen my skills and eagerly await the day when my surgically repaired left shoulder will let me once again throw the lethal and ultra-fast hand strikes that accompany the art.
I owe everything I am as a martial artist to, first of all, Chuck Norris for getting me interested in the martial arts in the first place and then Mr. Speakman for giving me the courage to chase my dreams as a practitioner.

The day has finally arrived and thanks to Kino Lorber, Speakman’s exercise in pure 90’s martial arts action awesomeness will finally get the home release it deserves as they will unveil a collector’s edition Blu-Ray which includes the movie in a kick ass 4K scan from the 35 mm original camera negative! That’s right! Fans will get to see him execute such classic Kenpo techniques as Grip of Death, Encounter with Danger, and more in glorious High Definition!
