UPDATE: Netflix Unveils a War Ready Jennifer Lopez with the Official Trailer for THE MOTHER!

UPDATE: After releasing key art for The Morher, Netflix has now given us our first look at Jennifer Lopez in action with the official trailer! Check out a deadly and bad ass parent who is extremely pissed off below!

(ORIGINAL POST) It’s hard to think about it but Hollywood superstar and A List musician Jennifer Lopez has garbed an impressive arsenal of action movies in her action career. From films like Enough to this year’s Shotgun Wedding with Josh Duhamel, Lopez isn’t afraid to get down and dirty.

Lopez will again go full throttle this May as she’s set to unload some serious firepower in Netflix’s new thriller The Mother. Lopez will portray a former assassin who polishes off her lethal skills once again when her daughter is placed in the crosshairs of some very bad people. Hell Hath No Fury and Lopez is going to prove that statement right with this adrenaline laced actioner.

Check out a set of new posters just released by Netflix below!

Directed by Niki Caro (Disney’s Mulan) and written by Misha Green (Lovecraft Country), the film follows Lopez as “a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up years before, while on the run from dangerous men.”

Lopez stars along with Joseph Fiennes (Riser), Lucy Paez (Silencio), Omari Hardwick (Pieces of Her), Paul Raci (Sound of Metal), and Gael Garcia Bernal (Old).

Once again, we have an action flick with a steely eyed killer professional trying to make a better life for themselves only to get sucked back into the life they left behind. Furthermore, there’s always a child in the mix that they must protect which reveals a moral code. It’s a tried and true trope and one that has seen many iterations thought recent years. This one is slightly different as Lopez is actually the mother to the child in danger

The Mother debuts on Netflix in May of 2023.
