It’s been a hell of a ride but all good things must eventually come to an end. Yesterday, Netflix announced that Cobra Kai was returning for a sixth albeit final season on the streaming service. The show which reintroduced characters from the popular Karate Kid movies was a huge success since it debuted on YouTube. The show eventually moved to Netflix and now there’s one more fight left to fight.

Personally, I thought the ending of last season was perfect as pretty much everything was wrapped up. The above teaser teases what’s to come while at the same time showcasing what has happened in the previous five seasons.
Series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg shared a heartfelt message on social media which displayed their gratitude for being able to continue the adventures of Daniel, Johnny and all the new and old chat in the franchise.
“Reacquainting the world with The Karate Kid universe has been our humble honor. Making Cobra Kai has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and the amazing original cast members. It also has enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted,”
They also tease that while this is the end of the series, the legacy will live on in potential spin-offs and more.
“That’s what we love most about the franchise: anybody watching our show sees how many characters are entering in and there’s part of us that never wants to stop,” Schlossberg said. “We do have a place where it’s all going, but that doesn’t mean the world has to stop there. We have lots of ideas of continuing [the universe] and keeping the Karate Kid vibes going through other stories and other shows and different formats for that.” However, you shouldn’t expect to see Cobra Kai spinoffs anytime soon, as Schlossberg added that they’re purely focused on the main series right now.”
