Say what you will about Netflix and many of you certainly have but I enjoy the content and what they have to offer. Action films are in full display and there are many foreign releases that will definitely satisfy your appetite for all things high-octane.
South Korea has really emerged as one of the prime leaders in action cinema content and we have another prime example with the debut of the new sci-fi action thriller JUNG_E which sees an elite mercenary transformed into an unstoppable AI to fight an upcoming war. Check out the footage and details below for the movie that Gail’s from Train to Busan Director Yeon Sang-ho.
Official Synopsis: In a post-apocalyptic near-future, a researcher at an AI lab leads the effort to end a civil war by cloning the brain of a heroic soldier–her mother.

JUNG_E stars Kim Hyun-joo in the lead role as well as Ryu Kyung-soo (Itaewon Club) as Sang-hoon, Park So-yi (Deliver Us From Evil) as Seohyun, and Volpi Cup-winning actress Kang Soo-yeon (The Surrogate Woman) who unfortunately passed away last year due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
The trailer has no shortage of CGI infused action with plenty of heavy weaponry and fisticuffs. Extreme stunt work is also in order as South Korea once again proves that they are the ones to beat when it comes to action cinema.
JUNG_E premieres on Netflix next week on January 20th!
