Henry Cavill Set to Pass His Sword to Liam Hemsworth in Season 4 of Netflix’s THE WITCHER!

Well Henry Cavill has announced that he will indeed still be the Man of Steel but it looks like that decision, along with other future projects, has forced the actor to hang up his sword for season 4 of The Witcher.

It was announced this weekend that Cavill will no longer play Geralt of Rivia and while this is good news for DCEU fans, it’s bad news for Witcher fans as Cavill’s schedule looks to be too full to continue on the Netflix series after season 3 which is yet to premiere. The show has already received a season 4 pickup and it looks like another actor will be stepping into the role.

My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find,” Cavill said in an official statement to Netflix’s TUDUM site.

With Cavill stepping away due to scheduling conflicts, actor Liam Hemsworth will be filling in as Geralt for season 4. Hemsworth made a statement of his own to the fans.

As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world,” Hemsworth stated.

This is definitely unexpected for fans but at least they will still have Cavill one more time for season 3. The junior season of The Witcher is set to premiere sometime in the summer of 2023. Fans will also have the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin starring Michelle Yeoh as that one debuts this December 25th on Netflix. That’s right because nothing says Merry Christmas like violent sword battles with creatures and evil humans. Happy Holidays.

Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to follow as we are your destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond!

In the meantime, relive one of Cavill’s best action moments from season 1 which happens to be one of my favorite set pieces!
