Last week’s Cannes Film Market was certainly a success for the action film industry as a slate of new and exciting films were announced featuring the action stars that everyone wants to see. From Scott Adkins to Frank Grillo, the next few years will give genre fans something to be thankful for when it comes to adrenalized entertainment.
One anticipated new entry that came out of last week’s event is called Dark Asset and it sees the return of Wu Assassins star and veteran action film alum Byron Mann as he is back in a new high-octane tale of a new breed of super spy that is unleashed into the world. Also featuring the one and only Terminator himself Robert Patrick, the initial sales trailer to launch last week has no shortage of Mann kicking all kinds of ass. Check out the fisticuffs in the new trailer below along with teaser key art released by Mann himself on social media!
Mann’s character John attempts to pick up Jane (Mattsson) in a bar by spinning a tale involving spies, implanted microchips and the dangerous military scientist (Patrick) hunting him. But what if it’s all true?

Starring along with Mann and Patrick is Helena Mattsson (American Horror Story, Seven Psychopaths). Michael Winnick (Guns, Girls and Gambling) is at the helm for this one and he also penned the script.
The UK-based sales firm 101 Films International, an Amcomri Entertainment company, handled the worldwide sales for the highly anticipated action spy-thriller that features an array of violent and brutal action set pieces, and judging from the action and drama shown in the above tease, this one will definitely get a launch date sometime this year. Patrick certainly looks to be having fun playing the mad scientist of sorts who is responsible for the deadly and advanced technology and fans of Mann know that he is quite capable in any type of action sequence.
