If you’re looking to scratch some 80’s throwback action-horror featuring an eclectic cast that includes Nick Chinlund (Tears of the Sun), Adrian Paul (Highlander) and the one and only Danny Trejo, then we’ve got just the thing for what ails you. If you like your military action peppered with a little bit of creature feature, then we’ve got the indie film for you.

The new film is called The Prey and it features the above mentioned cast as elite soldiers in Afghanistan who have their hands full with more than just the Taliban. Mass casualties and B movie induced carnage are the order of the day and you can check out the promotional trailer below!

Official Synopsis: U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan who become trapped inside a cave with a mythical creature the locals call KARNOCTUS!

Helmed by the directing tandem of the Hensman Brother, consisting of Matthew Hensman and Cire Hensman, the awesome looking action retro flick also stars Kevin Grevioux (Underworld). Matthew Hensman and Gustavo Sainz de la Peña penned the screenplay.

It definitely looks like Chinlund is taking point on this one and it just looks fun as hell even with the over abundance of CGI muzzle flashes. Anytime you can see Danny Trejo yell an Arabic greeting before cutting loose with an assault rifle, it’s a win in my book and I’m sold immediately.

I love military flicks and I love creature flicks so anytime you combine the two with this sensational cast, it just screams cult classic in the making. If anything, it should remind you of the type of movies that flooded video store shelves back in the 80’s and 80’s so it definitely radiates a nostalgia vibe that will entertain on a Saturday night.

The Prey, which also goes by the name The Prey: Legend of Karnoctus, is serving up to hit select theaters on June 7th followed by a digital launch one month later on July 7th.

The movie is also hosting an IndieGogo campaign to help finance the film’s release so check out the official site to help get involved for some cool perks. The campaign was just launched so there’s still well over a month to contribute. The movie is already done so it’s definitely coming out which is cool.
