It’s been done before and too little if any fanfare but Paramount Pictures is rolling the dice 9pun intended) on a new big screen adaptation of the ever popular fantasy role playing game Dungeons & Dragons. The game has entertained legions of fanboys on many a night throughout the decades and after a pair of failed attempts at bringing the mythology to big screen life once again, Paramount has officially unveiled the tentative title for the next go around of dragons, wizards, swashbuckling heroes and demons.
The film is titled Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and I say tentative because that can all change before the film actually arrives on March 23rd, 2023. Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the latest adaptation stars an impressive cast including Chris Pine (Wonder Woman, The Contractor), Michelle Rodriguez (Fast & Furious franchise), Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Sophia Lillis (It), Chloe Coleman (My Spy), Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton), Daisy Head (Fallen), and Hugh Grant (Operation Rogue). Check out the artwork below.

Plot details are currently being held in one of the aforementioned dungeons but hopefully we will get some sword swinging details over the horizon. Expect Pine to star as a sword wielding hero as he heads the cast. Pine has christened himself in period dark ages epics having starred in Netflix’s Outlaw King.
Few of you might have seen 2000’s Dungeons and Dragons which starred Justin Whalin and Marlon Wayans. and while it did entertain for what it was, it was a panned commercial failure. There was a SyFy channel follow up afterwards but that one is easily more forgotten than the first one and had nothing to do with the 2000 release. Here’s hoping this newest version will raise the bar to a respectful Lord of the Rings level.
Keep it locked and loaded for more as we are destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond!
