Filmmaker Zack Snyder is assembling some massive star firepower for his next Netflix outing. The film is called Rebel Moon and it will be one ambitious sci-fi action pic in the vein of Star Wars and more.
According to Deadline, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou and Ray Fisher, who starred as Cyborg in Snyder’s Justice League, have enlisted for the film along with Doona Bae for the announcement today. They join the cast that already includes Sofia Boutella. Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi and Sky Yang.

Snyder is wearing multiple hats on this project per usual as he will be directing from a script he co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad which is based on a story by Snyder and Johnstad.
Per Deadline: The film is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand the Tyrant.
If you ask me, the film has a distinct Star Wars meets The Magnificent Seven vibe to it with a dash of Blackhawk Down and with Snyder at the helm, the visuals will definitely be out of this world. Pun intended.
Snyder teased the announcement today on Twitter where he posts most of his updates and you can see the post below which includes some new concept art!
After the runaway success of Army of the Dead, Snyder signed a first look deal with Netflix for future projects. Rebel Moon is next in line although, the film is still in pre-production so it’ll be quite sometime until we see any footage from this one. Snyder is keen on updating fans on social media so expect endless amounts of updates on this one in the foreseeable future.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come as we are your destination for everything action and sci-fi in 2022 and beyond!
