Amazon Films has a pretty big casting announcement and it looks like Captain America is going to team up with Black Adam for the upcoming holiday action-comedy Red One. It’s being reported that Chris Evans has enlisted for a major role along with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who was previously attached, in the film which will be a globe trotting adventure with a holiday theme to it. Oh good, I’ve been looking for a new Christmas action movie and here it is.

The film, which is currently titled Red One, aims to shoot this year. It is a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre. Plot specifics are under wraps.

Jake Kasdan (The Jumanji Franchise) is set to helm the movie which comes from an original story by Seven Bucks Productions’ President of Production Hiram Garcia. There was quite the bidding war for this one last year with Amazon still standing when the dust settled. Chris Morgan, who also wrote Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, The Fate of the Furious, Furious 7, Fast & Furious 6 and Fast Five all starring Johnson, penned the script.

More details will most assuredly be released in the coming weeks and the film is set to be released during the holiday season of 2023.
