This is getting old. I’ve been enjoying going to the theaters for almost fifty years now but it’s getting to the point where I’m going to become an avid supporter of streaming. It’s cheaper, you get to enjoy the films in the comfort of your own house and you don’t have to deal with the public. Oh yeah and when a movie release is announced for a streaming film, it friggin comes out on that date!
For the I lost count time, Paramount Pictures has delayed Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 due to the ongoing pandemic and the current Omicron variant. That sounds like a Transformer by the way. Read and weep the official statement below…
“After thoughtful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic. The new release dates will be July 14, 2023, and June 28, 2024, respectively. We look forward to providing moviegoers with an unparalleled theatrical experience,” Paramount and Skydance said in a statement.
Helmed by Mission: Impossible – Fallout Director Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible 7 stars Cruise along with Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Bassett, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, and Charles Parnell.
As of this writing The Batman’s March 4th launch and Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick rehearse date of May 27th is still a go but I won’t be surprised if I wake up tomorrow and find that those have changed as well. These two films have seen their share of delays also. Fingers crossed people!!! I’m exhausted.
I hope they realize that we’ll probably still be dealing with all this in 2023 as well.
